A light on a hill

Ahoy(hello in Czech)!
We just returned from a fantastic mission trip to the czech Rebublic with 15 young people. we partnered with one of the only churches in the area, consisting of about 20 people. Although they're small -their faith is great, they are a beacon of light in a dark place. While in Czech we had the opportunity to do street ministry, sports outreach, travel to a nursing home, and a children's home. We also gathered together with the church most nights for worship and seminars! The trip was a priceless experience!

a time for planting and a time for harvest

There is little in this world more glorious than fresh produce! Steve and I love to garden, in fact our secret dream is to run a small u pick farm! We recently picked a gallon of blueberries at Briarpatch farm! Steve was of course the more serious picker of the pair. I wandered through the rows of trees, dreaming about being a laura Ingalls Wilder.

New Orleans

I just returned saturday from two weeks of mission trips! The first week was spent in New Orleans. I spent my Honeymoon in New Orleans so of course it holds a special place in my heart. The week was spent running a VBS, homeless ministry, prayer walking, volunteering in a food pantry, and visiting a nursing home. Of course we found the time to sample the local beignets and jambalaya!

Turning 26

It's my 26th birthday tomorrow. I was born on flag day, which I've always been a little proud of. I even dressed up as Betsy Ross for Halloween one year! We celebrated at Greenwoods which is a southern-homestyle restaurant with a hippie vibe. I love that they serve local homegrown foods! We celebrated with our good friends Molly and Patrick (Molly was my roommate when I lived in Australia). We dined on delectable fried green tomatoes, Fried chicken (with honey and cracked pepper), broccoli casserole, and homemade blackberry pie and ice cream. Steve always has a nack for picking out the perfect gift. This year he bought me a delicate gold chain with a rose pendant. I can't wait to see what this new year holds!

Georgia on my mind

We just moved from our home in Chattanooga, TN to Atlanta Ga. Trading the Ocoee river, mountains, and bluegrass for the buzz and glitz of the city. Our apartment is slowly getting put together and organized! Here are a few pictures of our little nest! The image top is the lemons I've been cooking with all week! The image on the left is our new dishtowel from Anthropologie. The image on the right is last Sundays dinner on the patio( pecan crusted salmon, yum).
